ALFRESCO - DINING AREA Visitors to Garden Week will be entertained in the Alfresco area by the Plant Doctors who will be presenting a host of gardening ideas and discussing any plant problems. During their breaks visitors will be entertained with bands, string quartets and many more musical delights. Visitors will be able to relax and enjoy this entertainment in the centrally located Alfresco Area while having a meal or indulging in a delicious aromatic coffee. |

TALKING GARDENS Visitors to the Channel Nine Garden Week 2006 will have the opportunity to rest their weary feet while listening to talks from some of Perth's most interesting garden experts. As well as well-known members of the Horticultural Media Association, there will be informative presentations and demonstrations by leading horticulturalists, industry specialists and garden designers. Talks will run every 30 minutes from 11.00am to 3.00pm (except Wednesday when no talks will be held) and from 10.30am to 3.30pm on the weekend. A facilitator will introduce each presenter and ensure that the talks run to schedule. Seating for up to 200 people will be available and speakers will answer questions after their talk in the adjoining garden advice tent. Most speakers will also provide information sheets. |

ABACAZOO ABACAZOO is an interactive area specifically designed for the enjoyment of all children. We will be working with a number of groups to provide activities such as; face painting, miniature garden of the senses, Zanie Critters, McDonald Farm animals, rock climbing and the list goes on. In this area there will also be plenty of chairs and tables for parents to sit back and relax whilst watching their children.

| New Concept | THE GARDEN WEEK MARKET PLACE A new introduction with great public appeal, the Garden Week Market Place will house lots of exhibits ranging from home produce to Venetian glass jewellery plus entertainment and artists in residence. The cottage industry is alive and well.

Sue McDougall host of gardening programs on radio and occasional presenter on the Channel Nine program Gardening WA and Hohn Colwill best known for his radio and television work on gardening and the weather will be dispensing daily advice from the Plant Clinic located within the Alfresco area. Visitors will be invited to bring their plants and any plant issues to the show for the doctors' advice and prescriptions. |
For the duration of the Talking Gardens schedule two or more members of the Horticultural Media Association will be available in the Garden Questions and Answers tent to answer gardening questions from the public. These celebrity gardening experts work in garden radio, television or newspapers and will dispense free advice to help visitors choose the best plants for their gardens, learn how to improve soil, diagnose and identify ailing plants as well as provide suggestions for garden design. |

SHOW GARDENS The Show Gardens are all about providing visitors to the show the perfect inspiration to turn their plot of land into the envy of the neighbourhood. We will be highlighting the work of some of WA’s leading landscapers who will be catering for just about every gardener’s interest. |

ART IN THE PARK An exhibition of garden art & sculptures will be the highlight of the landscaping surrounding the Alfresco area of Garden Week 2006. Talented West Australian artists have been given the opportunity to display their unique pieces in a wonderful garden setting. Each individual piece will be on show in an area of garden designed to suit. We will see all forms of glass, brass, copper, ceramics and metal all moulded into fantastic creations suitable for all types of gardens. |

BLOOMING IDEAS Blooming Ideas will triple in size in 2005 with dazzling displays of flowering plants gracing the pedestrian walkways at the show. The displays will be surrounded by seating and shade to provide the perfect place for visitors to rest their weary feet and be inspired. |
RAC EXPRESS The train will run from 11am to 4pm each day picking up and dropping off passengers in and around the Garden Week site. A new attraction in 2005 which was very successful the RAC Express was enjoyed by both the young and old.
